Patricia Ortelli acquired the Château La Calisse in 1991. Since its purchase, the vineyard has been thoroughly restored. The vines have been replanted with a north/south orientation in soils with a chalky, balanced texture. The land has been sub-soiled, drained, leveled, and spread over several terraces with excellent sun exposure. The Romans were the first to grow vines on this grape-friendly estate, which sits at an altitude of 1,250 feet and is situated in a depression with a unique microclimate. The vineyard received organic certification in 1996. Annual production is 20,000 bottles of rosé, 15,000 bottles of white, and 15,000 bottles of red. |
